Rhode Island Contractor License Surety Bonds

Contractors who work with underground utilities are required to post a $20,000 surety bond with the Contractors’ Registration and Licensing Board. This surety bond is required for two years and allows contractor to install, repair, alternate or replace sewer lines, water lines or storm drainage lines. Applicants must also obtain a Limited Liability Insurance Certificate for $1,000,000. If the contractor has employees, a worker’s compensation insurance policy is required.
