Per Ordinance No. 4-2017, retail marijuana establishments are required to post a $5,000 surety bond to the City of Sheridan. This bond is a guarantee that the principal will report and pay all sales and use taxes due to the city. If the principal fails to pay their taxes, the surety will pay out up to the penal sum of the bond. The City of Sheridan defines a “retail marijuana establishment” as a retail marijuana store, retail marijuana cultivation facility, retail marijuana products manufacturer or a retail marijuana testing facility.
